The British Colonial hotel has been a mainstay of downtown Nassau since the turn of the century. It first opened in 1901, then unfortunately burned down in 1922, with the current hotel having opened in 1924. The Colonial is very much a local landmark in Nassau.
The British Colonial is centrally located in the heart of downtown Nassau, just minutes away from the cruise ship port. It recently underwent a complete renovation, which has turned it into a resort as well as a hotel.
We had a lovely stay at this hotel in early to mid August, which was technically at the end of the season.
The hotel itself was incredibly well run. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the entire property is very well kept up and clean.
